1. Who are you contracting with?
Folkvio is provided by Moonlabs B.V., Mecklenburglaan 23, 7315 DS Apeldoorn, the Netherlands (Dutch Chamber of Commerce no. 85706744). When you create an account and accept these terms, your agreement is with Moonlabs B.V.
Folkvio is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we will clearly explain the price and any additional terms first. Payments made through Apple or Google are also subject to that store’s payment terms.
Back to top ↑2. Who may use Folkvio?
- You are at least 18.
- You use Folkvio personally, provide accurate and current details, and do not impersonate anyone.
- You keep your sign-in details private and tell us if someone else gains access.
- You maintain one personal account and do not sell or transfer it.
- You do not use Folkvio if we previously terminated your account for serious misuse, unless we agree in writing.
3. What Folkvio does and does not do
Folkvio helps you see people who voluntarily become available in the same selected venue or area. You can send an invitation and chat after it is accepted. We cannot promise that someone will be available, accept an invitation or that a meeting will go well.
Folkvio is not a dating or escort service, emergency service, identity check or background check. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 112 or local emergency services. A participating venue may display a QR code, but it is not a party to your use of Folkvio or your meeting with someone else.
Back to top ↑4. Keeping Folkvio welcoming
Use Folkvio respectfully and only for genuine, voluntary meetings. You must not:
- threaten, stalk, bully, discriminate against, humiliate or pressure anyone;
- share sexually explicit, violent, hateful, deceptive or otherwise objectionable content;
- offer sexual services, weapons, drugs, fraud, spam, advertising or other illegal or commercial activity;
- collect, publish or forward another person’s data, photos or conversations without permission;
- contact or depict minors, or lie about your age or identity;
- circumvent security, scrape accounts, distribute harmful code or disrupt Folkvio.
5. Meeting safely
You remain in control. Review the profile, meet in a public place first, tell someone where you are when appropriate and end contact if something feels wrong. Share sensitive information only if you choose to.
We do not routinely verify a person’s identity, background, intentions or conduct outside Folkvio. A profile, location check or account is not our endorsement or guarantee that someone is safe or trustworthy.
Back to top ↑6. Your profile and messages
You retain ownership of what you post. You give us only the worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission needed to store, secure, display to your chosen users and moderate that content. This permission ends when the content and any backups are deleted under our retention policy.
You promise that you have the necessary rights and that your content complies with law and these terms. Do not post another person’s confidential information. We may review content after a report and remove or restrict it where reasonably necessary.
Back to top ↑7. Blocking, reporting and our response
You can block a user and report objectionable conduct or content in the app. For urgent safety concerns, you can also email support@folkvio.app. We assess reports carefully and as promptly as reasonably possible.
We may remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate an account where someone breaks these terms or the law, creates a safety risk, misuses the service or threatens our systems. We consider severity, repetition, context and impact. Where appropriate and legally required, we explain our decision and any route to challenge it. You can appeal by emailing support@folkvio.app.
Back to top ↑8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Folkvio safe and available, but maintenance, outages, pilots or events beyond our control can temporarily limit the service. We may improve, add or retire features. We will give advance notice of a significant adverse change where reasonably possible.
We may update these terms because the service, law or safety requirements change. We will send you material changes before they take effect. If you disagree, you can close your account before that date. Changes never reduce mandatory consumer rights.
Back to top ↑9. Ending your use
You can stop at any time and delete your account in the app or through the Delete account page. If you no longer have access to the linked email address, email support@folkvio.app. The privacy notice explains what happens to your data.
We may end the agreement for a serious or repeated breach, an unacceptable safety risk or if Folkvio is discontinued. Unless immediate action is necessary, we will first warn you or allow a reasonable opportunity to put things right.
Back to top ↑10. If something goes wrong
We are responsible where the law says we are. Nothing in these terms limits liability for our intentional misconduct or deliberate recklessness, death or personal injury caused by us, or rights a consumer must always retain under mandatory law.
Folkvio connects people but is not responsible for their independent choices or conduct. To the extent permitted by law, we are also not responsible for harm caused by user content, an in-person meeting or an outage beyond our reasonable control. Please report problems promptly so we can try to prevent or limit harm.
Back to top ↑11. Law, complaints and contact
Dutch law applies. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you retain the mandatory protections of that country’s law. Disputes may be brought before the courts that have jurisdiction under the ordinary legal rules.
For a complaint, email support@folkvio.app. We will try to find a practical solution with you. These terms never restrict your right to contact a competent regulator or court.
