Common questions
We keep the explanations short and practical. In the app, your profile also has settings for your account, privacy and notifications.
Choose what you feel like doing in the app and how long you want to be available. You are only visible after you turn this on yourself. When the time you chose ends, your availability disappears automatically.
Folkvio only shows people who have chosen to be available at the same venue or in the same area. Sometimes nobody is visible. Also check that location services are on and that your connection is working.
You start with an invitation and a short first message. A chat opens only after the other person accepts the invitation. That way you both stay in control.
Check your email address and connection first. Then choose “Forgot password” on the sign-in screen to receive a reset email. Never share your password or verification code with anyone, including Folkvio support.
In the app, go to Profile → Notifications. Choose which Folkvio notifications you want to receive. If notifications are switched off completely on your phone, open your device settings from that page.
You can do this in the app via Profile → Account and privacy → Delete account. If you cannot use the app, start from our self-service page. Your profile is hidden immediately, and you then have 30 days to cancel the deletion.
No. Other people only see that you are at the same participating venue or somewhere nearby. Your exact GPS location is not shown to anyone else. Read more in our privacy notice.
Open that person’s profile, request or conversation and choose “Block and report”. They are not told that you made the report. If you cannot use the app, email support@folkvio.app.
Stop contact, go somewhere safe or busy, and block or report the person in the app. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 112 or your local emergency services. Folkvio is not an emergency service.
