1. Adults only

Folkvio is a meeting app for adults. When you create an account we ask for your date of birth. If you are under 18, you cannot create an account.

An account, profile or conversation on Folkvio is never meant for a child. If you pretend to be 18 or older when you are not, we close the account.

2. What is not allowed

We prohibit every form of child sexual abuse or exploitation. That covers what you post, send or request on Folkvio, and any use of Folkvio for that purpose. You must not:

  • create, request, share or keep sexual material of a child;
  • sexually approach a child, pressure a child or draw a child toward sexual contact;
  • present a minor on Folkvio, or pretend to be a minor in order to make contact;
  • ask anyone to obtain images of a child or to arrange contact with a child;
  • use an account, photo or conversation to find, approach or exploit a child.

3. Report it in the app

You can block a user and report them at the same time. Open the profile, request or conversation and choose “Block and report”. Pick the reason that fits best, such as underage, inappropriate content or safety. The other person is not told that you made the report.

If you cannot do that in the app, email support@folkvio.app. Describe what you saw. Do not attach the material itself.

If anyone is in immediate danger, call 112 or your local emergency services. Folkvio is not an emergency service.

4. What we do with a report

Reports about a minor or about immediate safety are handled first. We assess them as promptly as reasonably possible.

We may remove content, restrict features and suspend or close an account. We keep what we need to assess the report and to notify an authority.

We do not always tell the reporter the outcome, because that can interfere with an investigation. Where the law requires it, we explain a measure we have taken. You can appeal by emailing support@folkvio.app.

5. Reporting to authorities

When we encounter illegal material or conduct involving a child, we report it to the competent authorities. In the Netherlands those are the police and the Meldpunt Kinderporno hotline. Where United States law requires it, we report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

We comply with a lawful request from a competent authority. This page states our standard. It is not a helpline and it does not replace the police.

6. Contact

Questions about these standards, or about how Folkvio prevents and reports child sexual abuse, go to support@folkvio.app. That address is the point of contact for this subject.

Folkvio is a service of Moonlabs B.V., Mecklenburglaan 23, 7315 DS Apeldoorn, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce 85706744).

If the service or the law changes, we may update this page. The date at the top is the one in force.
